GADSDEN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: 2nd Annual Medical and Psychological Aspects of Disability in the Workplace Training

Gadsden Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.

Make plans to join us for the 2nd Annual Medical and Psychological Aspects of Disability in the Workplace One-Day Training, Thursday, March 21, 2019, Trussville Civic Center, Trussville, AL.

As a leader in your industry, you are well aware that assisting employees with accommodation requests can be a challenge. This training will help you understand the medical and psychological aspects of prominent workplace disabilities so that you are better prepared to meet reasonable accommodation requests!

This unique one day work shop, sponsored by the Alabama Business Leadership Network and the READI-Net program of the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, offers participants the following:

  •  Information from subject matter experts regarding the impact of Autism, Depression, PTSD, Stroke, Cancer, and Visual Disabilities as they relate to limitations in the workplace. You will also gain insight on suicide prevention and mental illness, which according to the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), impacts 61.5 million Americans in a given year.  
  • Insight from other business leaders who have successfully implemented best practices to accommodate medical and psychological disabilities in the workplace.
  • Resources to assist you in applying the knowledge gained at your company.
