Graduates earn 1,091 degrees, certificates from Bevill State Community College


About 34.3 percent of the 1,091 degrees and certificates handed out by Bevill State Community College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Jasper conferred 187 associate's degrees and 187 certificates in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 186 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 132 associate's degrees in general studies and 126 certificates in licensed practical/vocational nurse training.

The college enrolled 3,872 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
