Graduates earn 1,157 degrees, certificates from Gadsden State Community College


About 25.4 percent of the 1,157 degrees and certificates handed out by Gadsden State Community College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Gadsden conferred 158 associate's degrees and 136 certificates in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in general studies. Data shows the school gave out 241 associate's degrees in general studies, followed by 121 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 101 certificates in industrial mechanics and maintenance technology.

The college enrolled 4,979 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
