The Love Center provides food and lodging to homeless families and women and has been doing that mission for over 35 years. The Love Center in 2018 provided approximately 8,000 nights of lodging and provided about 24,000 meals to the homeless.

“This fundraiser is one way we fund this vital service of helping the homeless,” said Andy Powell, board vice president.

Derrick Austin, whose family participated twice on the television show “Family Feud,” will be MC for the evening.

The Love Center is also partnering with the Gadsden Public Library for the event this year. Library Director Craig Scott is working with area school teachers to survey local middle school students that will provide the answers that teams will be attempting to guess.

“I think this will add some local favor to the game,” Powell said, “and it is great that the library is helping us in developing the survey questions for the game. Craig Scott is also going to serve as our judge for the evening.”

Another special part of the evening will be a silent auction and gift basket auction, Powell said.

He said while they are still collecting items among the items already donated include two Alabama Tennessee football tickets and a night at a cabin at Noccalula Falls.

Tickets are available at Allenstein and Allenstein 141 S. 9th Street or Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial at 1509 Rainbow Drive or by calling 256-478-7611.

Tickets will also be available at the door.
